Veteran Telugu actor and producer GV Narayana Rao has passed away at the age of 73. Several actors and film personalities have expressed their condolences after hearing the news.

As per a report by CineJosh, he had been facing health issues for some time and breathed his last on Wednesday evening.The Movie Artists Association (MAA) also expressed grief over his passing.
About GV Narayana’s career
GV Narayana Rao had a career that lasted for nearly five decades. He was born in Kurumaddali village in Krishna district and received acting training at the Madras Film Institute before entering the film industry.He made his acting debut with K. Balachander’s ‘Anthuleni Katha’ in 1976. His performance in the film earned him the Nandi Award for Best Supporting Actor.He later played lead roles in films such as ‘Muthyala Pallaki’, ‘Oka Oori Katha’, ‘Chilakamma Cheppindi’ and ‘Oorukichchina Maata’. He later moved towards supporting roles and acted in more than 100 films.
Friendship with Chiranjeevi and Rajinikanth
Narayana Rao shared a close friendship with Rajinikanth. The two were batchmates at the film institute in Chennai and trained together before entering the industry.He also had a strong association with Chiranjeevi. The two worked together in films such as ‘Chattaniki Kallu Levu’, ‘Manchu Pallaki’, ‘Raja Vikramarka’, ‘Gang Leader’ and ‘Hitler’.Narayana Rao also turned producer and backed films including Chiranjeevi’s ‘Devanthakudu’ and ‘Yamudiki Mogudu’. He later remade ‘Yamudiki Mogudu’ in Tamil with Rajinikanth.

Narayana Rao was also active on television and appeared in popular serials such as ‘Pasupu Kumkuma’ and ‘Sundarakanda’. He continued to take up character roles and remained connected with the industry in his later years.
