Actor Sonu Sood, actress Manisha Koirala and fashion designer Prabal Gurung have come forward to express solidarity with the people of Nepal as devastating floods ravaged towns, leaving many dead and over 400 missing.Sood, who has been personally championing various philanthropic and humanitarian work, took to social media to extend his support to those affected by the crisis, writing, “Nepal, you are not alone. We are coming with food, shelter and the strength to help you rebuild.”

Actress Manisha Koirala, who was born in Nepal and has often spoken about her deep connection with the country, also took to her platform to ask her fans and social media followers to ‘Pray for Nepal’. The actress also posted then and now photos of the shocking extent of damage caused by the floods that wiped out towns along the river.Meanwhile, Gurung, the Nepal-born designer, also joined the growing chorus of voices expressing concern over the situation. Taking to his handle he tweeted, “Heartbroken by the devastating floods along the Nepal–Tibet border. The loss is unimaginable: lives taken, families searching for loved ones, communities swept away. Praying for all who are grieving or displaced, and for the courageous rescuers working tirelessly under impossible conditions. Holding everyone affected in my heart.”
About the Nepal flash floods
Flash floods in the Bhote Koshi River hit the Rasuwa region on Wednesday morning, according to a preliminary situation update issued by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB). The board said the 384 missing tourists include 291 foreign nationals and 93 Nepali citizens. The foreign nationals are from several countries, including 105 from India, and others from the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States, Malaysia, South Africa and the Netherlands.However, the NTB clarified that the figures are preliminary and are currently being verified and cross-checked with travel agencies, local authorities and other concerned agencies. The nationalities of several of the missing travellers are yet to be confirmed.Authorities and rescue agencies are continuing efforts to assess the situation and establish the whereabouts of those reported missing.So far, seven people have been confirmed dead, and several are missing, according to The Kathmandu Times.
